Message from founder and Chief Executive

Md Shahid Ullah, the founder and chief executive of DISA, believes in an holistic approach when it comes to social advancement. Under his compelling leadership DISA has proved its competence as a development partner by having an illustrious footprint in several social development projects.

Outcomes of the holistic development programmes and social enterprises of DISA have been contributing to the socio-economic development of people, especially women and children. .
DISA’s three key programmatic pillars are: 1) Firstly, helping the families of the programme participants while alleviating their poverty, especially rural women, through inclusion to financial services and by enabling them to have access to entrepreneurial activities; and by providing vocational training to the younger members of the families and by placing them in decent jobs,Secondly, enlightening societies through education, health services and health education, encouraging the younger generation to build a habit of reading at safe and rich community libraries, and by raising awareness on social practical issues,and 3) Lastly, developing human resources through rigorous training for enhancing soft skills and operational efficiency both for development interventions and social enterprises; and through continuous evidence-based research for learning.
