The Government of Bangladesh, together with non-governmental organizations, aims to reach all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations by 2030, and the Development Initiative for Social Advancement (DISA) aims to support Bangladesh on its journey towards a prosperous nation.
DISA is a non-political and non-governmental organization started in 1993 to help Bangladesh achieve its Sustainable Development Goals. DISA’s mission as an organization is to help the country move towards a productive, prosperous and sustainable future. Since its inception, it has been contributing to poverty alleviation through various economic activities such as women empowerment, skill training for youth, education, social entrepreneurship and other initiatives related to social development. DISA operates 102 branch offices and 23 social enterprises in 19 districtsof Bangladesh and has successfully implemented several development programs including 1 standard residential training center in Mirpur, Dhaka. DISA is working regularly to expand its activities through creativity, innovation and uniqueness.
DISA’s founder and CE, Md. Shahid Ullah, believes in a comprehensive approach in social progress. Under his compelling leadership, DISA has proven its competence as adevelopment partner by leaving an illustrious footprint in various social development projects such as Aloghar (Publication, Nursery, Knowledge and Information Centre), DISA Institute of Science and Technology (DIST), Matribhumi Fashion, Matribhumi Sweet and DISA Training Center (DTC)..
